DITP to host the second edition of “STYLE” to be the region’s most comprehensive lifestyle trade fair

DITP to host the second edition of “STYLE” to be the region’s most comprehensive lifestyle trade fair with expanded exhibition space in response to local and international demand.

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, is hosting the second ‘STYLE, Asia’s Most Stylish Fair April 2018’ to follow up on the phenomenal success of the mega-fair that combines BIFF&BIL, BIG+BIH and TIFF in one between April 19-23, 2018, at BITEC Bangna. To align with the Government’s Creative Economy and SMEs promotion, STYLE April 2018 introduces The New Faces Project featuring potential SMEs ready to take center stage in the global scene.

 

The Department of International Trade Promotion – DITP’s Director-General Mrs. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, reveals that STYLE April 2018 is the follow up on the its inaugural edition in October 2017. Last year, the Fair brought together over 2,000 booths of Thai and international exhibitors and welcomed more than 52,000 fair goers. The top five buyers from Taiwan, China, Japan, the US and Malaysia created total sales value of 3,600 million bath during the 5-day fair.

 

For STYLE April 2018, DITP is planning to offer even more diverse kinds of lifestyle products in one trade fair. The featured products are divided into three categories: fashion (clothing and accessories, footwear, bags, leather goods, sports equipment, travel and recreational products), gift & houseware (gifts, home decorative items, houseware, office stationery, toys, wellness) and furniture. STYLE also highlights up and coming lifestyle product segments such as 60+, Moms and Kids, Pet products, One Tambon One Product (OTOP) and new showcases such as character licensing, functional textile, etc. STYLE April 2018 is slated to happen between April 19-23, 2018 on 47,000 sqm of trade space (Hall 98 – 105) at BITEC Bangna.

 

“In terms of participants, we expect to welcome more than 600 local and international entrepreneurs from CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam), Korea, Taiwan and Japan to present their products. It is also anticipated that 60,000 fair goers from all over the world, especially from Taiwan, Japan, the US, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia, India and ASEAN will join the Show,” said Mrs. Chantira.

 

STYLE April 2018 is also providing Business Matching service to build business network as well as fashion shows from several renowned brands, workshops and business consultancy services for Thai entrepreneurs with aspiration to grow in the international market. The Fair will also offer a string of exhibitions. Highlights include the first-ever Innovation and Design Zone (IDZ) where businesses and start-ups with projects relating to innovation and design may engage in business discussions and trading activities. There is also Design Society booth that gives consultancy to designers and entrepreneurs to help them develop their products or service for the international markets. Design Society is part of the government’s Creative Thailand agenda that supports Thai entrepreneurs and creates channels for them to reach new potential buyers from all over the world. DITP also connects local SMEs to the global markets by introducing The New Faces initiative to promote SMEs with unconventional design products that are attention grabbing and high-quality, as well as OTOP entrepreneurs that develop their local products to accommodate the needs and tastes of international buyers.
